There are many many studios out there in a similar price bracket to us, but few with the pedigree and experience to help you realise the kind of records you want to make.

I founded The Mews in Stoke Newington in 2001 after 5 years working in house at Sony’s Whitfield Street studios in the West End and a year freelancing as an Engineer. We have recently relocated to exciting larger premises in Bow.

My original concept was to create a recording/ mixing/production suite that took aspects of the bigger rooms in town namely;

High end signal paths (Neve, SSL, Trident, Avalon)

A comprehensive microphone collection.

Proper wiring focused in a 10u patchbay that any professional Engineer will instantly understand and recognize including comprehensive digital and midi patchbay.

A large variety of outboard to create a diverse sonic palette of signal paths (as opposed to other rooms akin to ours that use only internal Protools plugins).

Detailed monitoring (Quested VS2108, NS10’s) in an acoustically designed control room with a bottom end that allows for very detailed sonic manipulation.

Production toys, keyboards, samplers, instruments, backline, DJ facilities

120sq ft acoustically treated Tracking area.

I have been engineering and working with Pro Tools now for nearly a decade. My Pro Tools skills have been used on films such as Girl with a Pearl Earring and Finding Neverland, pop music such as The Prodigy and Ladyfuzz, and a plethora of classical projects from large orchestral works to incredibly detailed piano and voice pieces.
